Victim shot during attempted carjacking in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- DeKalb County police are looking for two gunmen in an attempted carjacking.

The victim was shot at a Citgo gas station Food Mart on Gresham Road in unincorporated DeKalb County, DeKalb County police Sgt. Steven Dean said. The attack happened shortly after midnight Tuesday.

When the robbers tried to take the car, the victim ran and was shot in the back, police said. They said the shooter used a shotgun.

The gunmen got away in a PT cruiser, police said. They face aggravated assault charges.

The victim was hospitalized but is expected to be OK.
