Lee County School System is mourning the loss of a beloved school leader.

The district announced the death of Dr. Taylar Williams, assistant principal at Lee County Primary School.

According to the school’s Facebook page, Williams joined the primary school in June 2025 and quickly became a cherished presence on campus.

“She was more than an educator and leader — she was a steady source of sunshine and support for students, staff, and families,” the district said in a statement. “She was known for her dedication to learning, her belief in the potential of every child and person, and her commitment to her faith and family.”

Williams previously served at Live Oak Elementary School in Albany, where former colleagues remembered her as a model of excellence in education.

“She was passionate about student achievement, unwavering in her commitment to nurturing young minds, and intentional about creating a learning environment where every child felt valued and empowered,” the school shared. “Her dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she continuously sought to uplift her community through service, encouragement, and leadership.”

Williams is survived by her husband and four children.

Her cause of death has not been released.
