Shakira suffers brutal fall on-stage, twists her ankle

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador — Colombian pop star Shakira twisted her ankle and fell on stage Saturday night while performing in San Salvador, but quickly got back up and continued her concert, organizers and social media posts said.

The 49-year-old singer was in the middle of performing “Si Te Vas” as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour when she lost her footing and fell to her knees, according to fan-posted video and reports. The fall briefly interrupted the show, and she appeared to land on her elbow before rising and finishing the performance.

Shakira later shared a clip of the incident on her Instagram Stories, telling fans, “Don’t worry, I’m made of rubber,” in a light-hearted message. Viewers on social media posted messages of concern and support for the singer.

The tour, Shakira’s first in several years, began in early 2025 and has visited cities across the Americas. This is not the first time she has stumbled during a show; she experienced a similar fall last year in Montreal but completed that concert as well.

Tour dates scheduled in Mexico and other countries are set to continue in the coming weeks.
