Cheers is coming to the stage

The bar where everybody knows your name is coming to stage in September.

The “Cheers Live on Stage” is a comedy based on some of the most memorable moments from the celebrated TV shows first season. The two-hour show, which debuts in Boston this September before continuing on to do a national tour will feature all of the fans favorite characters, including pretentious waitress Diane Chambers, rotund barfly Norm Peterson, Carla, Cliff, Coach, Sam Malone and a few new twists as well.

Although no original cast members are involved, the shows director says that he plans to bring members of the audience on stage to be bar patrons during the performance.
