DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Two men wanted in unrelated murder investigations were arrested Friday morning at the same Decatur residence, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said its Fugitive Unit, working alongside the U.S. Marshals Service, located and arrested both suspects at a home on Cedarbrook Drive on Feb. 27.

Robert Grady, 22, was taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting outside an adult entertainment club in Clarkston.

Investigators allege that in November 2025, Grady and another individual exited a Jeep and fired multiple shots at three people sitting inside a vehicle in the 1300 block of Brockett Road.

Gary Matthews, 31, of Lithonia, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was critically injured, authorities said.

Grady faces a charge of malice murder and is being held without bond at the DeKalb County Jail.

During the same operation, deputies also arrested Hamid Dawd Waykuur, 20, at the Cedarbrook Drive home.

Waykuur is accused in the June 2024 shooting death of 17-year-old Messiah Battle in Clarkston.

Police said the shooting occurred at the Springdale Glen Apartments in the 3800 block of Brockett Trail. Officers responding to the scene found Battle on an exterior stairwell with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died from his injuries.

Waykuur is also charged with malice murder and is being held without bond at the DeKalb County Jail.

Authorities have not indicated whether the two suspects are connected beyond being found at the same residence. Both investigations remain ongoing.
