Sheriff: Couple in Murder-Suicide, James Wallace and Annie Ruth Wallace, Was Divorcing

FORT VALLEY, Ga. -  Authorities say a Georgia man who apparently shot and killed his wife before tuing the gun on himself was in the middle of a divorce.

Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese said Monday that 54-year-old James Wallace shot his wife Annie Ruth Wallace twice in the neck and once in the head as she sat in front of her computer.

The sheriff said James Wallace then went to the bedroom where his adult daughter Charidy Wallace was laying in bed and told her to leave before fatally shooting himself with the pistol.

Deese says James Wallace told his daughter that he "couldn't take it anymore" before killing himself.
