Second Arrest Made in String of Crimes in Atlanta
ATLANTA, Ga. - Atlanta police made a second arrest in a string of home invasions and robberies.
Investigators believe there could be a link between those crimes and the murder of a man in Virginia-Highland.
Atlanta police made a second arrest that could lead to the capture of Charles Boyer's killer.
Boyer was gunned down during a November robbery in the victim's Virginia Highland apartment complex.
The gunmen escaped in what witnesses describes as a dark colored SUV.
The unnamed suspect right now only faces charges in connection with a November 27 home invasion in Benteen Park. Police say the suspect is facing three counts of armed robbery and three counts of false imprisonment.
Earlier police arrested another suspect on a probation violation. That person is charged with the robbery and assault of a taxicab driver in southeast Atlanta.
Video has captured both suspects in a 2005 Toyota Highlander which was stolen on November 19.
Inside that vehicle police found items belonging to the victims -- including Boyer's cell phone and ID -- although neither has been charged with his murder.
Because the investigation continues the names of the suspects haven't been released.
The news of the arrest comes on the same night when APD chief George Tuer met with community leaders to ensure them the department is doing all it can to keep down crime.
