Police: Trespassing Teen Falls Through School Skylight
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - A teenager was seriously injured when he fell through a school gymnasium skylight while trespassing, police in Peachtree City said.
On Thursday, officers were called to Piedmont Fayette Hospital to investigate an incident involving a teen who had reportedly fallen through a skylight above the gymnasium at Braelinn Elementary School.
Police said four teens were trespassing on the roof of Braelinn Elementary. While on the roof of the gymnasium, one of the teens, a 14-year-old, fell through a skylight and struck the concrete floor of the gym, police said. Police said the teen was seriously injured, but he was able to make his way to a door. The teen was taken to an area hospital by the other teenagers who were with him, police said.
All four teenagers were charged following a preliminary investigation, police said. Carl Logan Williams, 17, and a Devante Edward Jones, 17, both of Peachtree City, were charged with criminal trespass, minor in possession of alcohol and fuishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21.
A juvenile, 15, of Peachtree City, was charged with criminal trespass. The injured teen was also charged with criminal trespass.
After being evaluated at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, the seriously injured teen was flown by helicopter to Egleston Children's Hospital, and later transferred to Scottish Rite Hospital, where he remains.
