LILBURN, Ga. -- Four people were arrested after a bank robbery in Lilbu. Police said the suspects are a mother, her child and two schoolmates.

The woman checked the three teens out of Stephenson High School on Friday moing, Lilbu police Deputy Chief Bruce Hedley said. He said the four went to a Wells Fargo on Rockbridge Road and Lawrenceville Highway for a heist.

Surveillance video showed a woman and two men walk into the bank. A witness said they looked ready to steal.

”I saw what appeared to be a weapon being drawn and two suspects ducking, pulling hoodies up and masks on, witness Ivy Cromer told Channel 2’s Manuel Bojorquez.

Cromer said he called 911, waited until they came back out and followed them as they drove off in a getaway car.

After a police pursuit, the suspects’ Red Toyota Corolla crashed into railroad tracks in Dekalb County, police said.

Police identified the suspects as Tawander Simmons, 35, of Stone Mountain; Benny Brice, 17, of Stone Mountain; Glenn Broom, 18, of Lithonia; and David Rollins, 17, of Lithonia. Investigators said Simmons checked out her son, Brice, along with the other two suspects, from Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain.Cromer said he was glad he could help.

”I'm just tired of this thing, so I figured I could make a little impact, Cromer said.
