DECATUR, Ga. — Police near Atlanta are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy.

Authorities say Michael Weeks was found unresponsive Saturday inside a unit at the Ivy Park Apartments on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. Emergency crews tried to revive the boy, but they were unsuccessful.

WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/U5zq41) reports that police questioned witnesses, but no charges were immediately filed.

Authorities say the child was being cared for by his stepfather while his mother was away running some errands.

A police report said the stepfather ran to a neighbor's door asking for help, and the boy was later found unresponsive on a bed. He was then taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
