Person Rescued During Duluth Fire

DULUTH, Ga. - Gwinnett firefighters rescued one person during an apartment fire early Monday moing.

Lieutenant Eric Eberly of Gwinnett County Fire Emergency Services says the fire occurred at an apartment complex on the 2600 block of North Berkeley Lake in Duluth.

Eberly says when crews arrived on the scene, fire was seen on the second floor of an apartment building. Police units were already evacuating residents from the building.

Firefighter crews also found one person hanging out of a window of the second floor. Using ladders, crews brought the person down.

The fire was quickly brought under control and no injuries are reported, says Eberly.

The cause of the fire is not known.
