Parapro Marvin Shane Pilcher accused of sexual battery against a student
Marvin Shane Pilcher, 26, was charged with sexual battery against a minor, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

A middle school teachers assistant was charged Wednesday with sexual battery against a minor, according to the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office.

Marvin Shane Pilcher, 26, was arrested Wednesday, two days after the county school system contacted the sheriffs office, a spokeswoman for the sheriffs office said.

A Riverwatch Middle School student made the allegations Monday to school officials, Maj. Don Jagoe with the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office said. Details regarding the alleged battery were not released. Pilcher was employed as a paraprofessional at the school.

Pilcher was booked into the Forsyth County jail, where he was being held Wednesday night without bond.

A school district spokesman said Pilcher is no longer employed with the system.

The investigation is continuing, Jagoe said.
