Newlywed Danielle Holly killed in I-285 crash

A 21-year-old newlywed was killed Sunday after her car was struck by a tractor-trailer on I-285 southbound, near MLK Drive.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was attempting to change lanes when it struck Danielle Holly's Nissan, sending it out of control, Officer Kim Jones with Atlanta police told the AJC.

The car struck a guardrail before crossing the highway and being struck by the cab of another tractor-trailer, Jones said.

The wreck blocked all southbound lanes of I-285 in the area for about two hours Sunday night.

Holly's husband, whose name was not released, was a passenger in the Nissan. He was transported to a local hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed, Jones said.
