Mega Millions balloons to $290 MILLION after no one wins in final drawing of 2010

ATLANTA - The multistate Mega Millions jackpot is getting bigger, even before tonight's drawing.

Heavy ticket sales have boosted the top prize to $290 million, up from the first estimate of $237 million.

The jackpot has been without a winner for 14 consecutive biweekly drawings, dating back to early November. The chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175 million.

Mega Millions is played in 41 states -- including Georgia -- and the District of Columbia.

The drawing will be shown live on Channel 2 just before the GA Daily News Nightbeat at 11.
