Glenwood Food Mart Clerk Shot, Killed in Store Robbery

ATLANTA - Atlanta police say one person is dead following a shooting at a convenience store on Glenwood Avenue in southeast Atlanta.

The incident happened at a CITGO gas station on Glenwood Avenue and Fayetteville Road.

Major Keith Meadows of the Atlanta Police Department says the suspect entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. At some point the suspect fired his weapon 4 or 5 times, hitting the clerk in the lower abdomen in what appears to be a robbery.

Police say the store's cash drawer was emptied and they're looking for a red pick-up truck with at least three men inside.

Investigators say they're also talking to two witnesses for more answers.

The clerk was transported to Grady Hospital and later died. The name of the victim has not been released
