Cynthia Hall

A DeKalb County employee is in hot water after being accused of racketeering and cheating taxpayers out of thousands of dollars using a payroll scheme.

Police documents confirm that Cynthia Hall, the DeKalb County Watershed Management Payroll Technician, is accused of entering overtime pay into the database for time that employees didn’t actually work.

Investigators say Hall even received cash payments for her alleged fraud. The 49-year-old worked at the Roadhaven Drive location. She faces several charges including racketeering, theft by taking, computer trespassing or hacking, and computer forgery.

Police say crew worker Anthony Lee resigned and crew worker Jarvis Foster was fired.

DeKalb County officials say Hall was terminated from her position on Tuesday. FOX 5’s Aungelique Proctor went to Hall's Norcross apartment for comment on Thursday afteoon, but she got no answer.

The police investigation continues and others could be arrested.
