Atlanta rapper Yung Mazi shot in chest inside Waffle House
ATLANTA - Police say an Atlanta rapper is recovering after being shot inside a Waffle House restaurant early Tuesday moing.
Yung Mazi, whose real name is Jibril, was shot in the chest.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. at the restaurant on the 3000 block of Piedmont Road.
According to police, Mazi entered the restaurant and was about to order when he was shot. He was taken to Piedmont Hospital where he is recovering.
Just hours later the aspiring rapper tweeted: ”God made me bulletproof.
In a video interview posted to YouTube in June this year Mazi claimed he had been shot 10 times.
Speaking to DJ Smallz he suggested he ”keeps getting shot due to the colour of his skin and the expensive accessories he wears.
He said: ”I might walk around with a quarter-million-dollars-worth of jewelry on.
A biography on his website states Mazi he has been shot multiple times, including once in the head.
It reads: ”He was shot five times – one bullet hitting him in the head and leaving him temporarily brain damaged, almost ending his life.
Police do not have any suspects in custody.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
