5 men, 3 kids charged after drugs, stolen guns recovered in Atlanta

- Atlanta Police have charged five men and three juveniles after a patrol stop led to the discovery of a number of drugs and stolen weapons.

Police say officers patrolling along the 300 block of the Stone Hogan Connector on July 6 detained a large group of males after smelling marijuana and observing a partially-concealed AK- styled pistol.

After investigating, they say, officers recovered seven firearms—three of which were found to be stolen— and a large amount of drugs, including oxycodone pills, marijuana, Ecstasy pills, crack cocaine and Xanax bars. A flathead screwdriver, commonly used in vehicle break-ins, a gas mask and drug paraphealia was also recovered, police said.

The five adults were charged and transported to Fulton County Jail. The three juvenile suspects were charged and released to their parents.

The adults arrested and charged were:

Marvin L. Jacobs, 18 was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance, distribution of drug related objects, possession of tools to commit a crime and possession of a controlled substance.

Ebrima Jobe, 22, was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance, distribution of drug related objects, possession of tools to commit a crime and possession of a controlled substance.

Darrin Collins, 21: was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance, distribution of drug related objects, possession of tools to commit a crime, possession of a controlled substance and theft by receiving stolen property, gun.

Justin Hill, 21, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, gun, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless conduct, tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance.

Jaquavis Lindsey, 17, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property gun, reckless conduct and possession of a pistol by a person under 18.
