Woman says stalker left another scary note

Neighbors are on alert after a man accused of stalking a woman and breaking into her home retued Thursday and left another scary note.

Channel 2's Amy Napier Viteri spoke with family members about what the latest note said as police stepped up their presence in the neighborhood.

Just after 10 p.m., officers stopped a car on Tuing Point and questioned the driver before letting him go.

"I know that they're here and watching us, but I don't know how he's getting by," said a neighbor who asked not to be identified.

Neighbors said they're watching, too, and keeping their doors locked.

On Wednesday, a woman who asked not to be identified told Viteri a man has been stalking her in her home and leaving notes.

"Extremely threatening -- he's invaded every aspect of my personal space," the woman said.

A camera at her home captured video of the man walking away. She said that on Friday, he broke in, stole two butcher knives and left a note threatening to harm her.

On Thursday, family members told Viteri that the woman found another note. This one said not to call police and that the man enjoys watching her.

"I find that just eerie feeling, just unbelievable. Just -- I don't know what to think of that," neighbor Robert Tucker said.

Tucker lives in the apartment complex one street over. He said he has seen the man in the neighborhood twice. Both times, the man on foot.

"And I said, 'My gosh, there's that guy again. He's wearing the same clothes. He didn't have anything in his hands,'" Tucker said.

"It just -- it's spooky. It's real weird -- too close to home," said neighbor Jenny Palmer, who has also seen the man. "We've got our eyes open. We're looking."

Family members said they are organizing a neighborhood watch.

At least one neighbor said he will be participating in the group and that he wants to find the man quickly.
