Woman, Officer Hurt in Roswell Confrontation

ROSWELL, Ga. - Police in Roswell say an officer and a burglary suspect are recovering from injuries after a confrontation outside an elementary school.

Roswell police Lt. James McGee says the confrontation took place in the parking lot of St. David Episcopal Church Tuesday night after the officer caught a woman and two men burglarizing nearby Mimosa Elementary School.

McGee says the haul included flat-screen TVs and other equipment. He says that when the three tried to flee, the driver struck the officer with the getaway car, and the officer fired a shot at the car.

McGee says the bullet grazed the woman's head, causing a minor injury, and the officer was treated for a leg injury.

He says those arrested face charges of burglary and aggravated assault on a police officer.
