Wisconsin town shaken by mysterious 'booms'
What could be behind the mysterious booms?

Clintonville, Wis., does not understand why it keeps booming, literally. "Mysterious booms" that reportedly sound like thunder and feel like "a tree fell on your roof" have awakened and terrified residents for two nights in a row, yet have no apparent source.

A nearby seismic station has recorded "unusual ground shaking," but the disturbances are not earthquakes.

City officials have gone as far as to contact the military to see if there are exercises going on nearby.

Tonight, a public meeting is planned for further inquiry, although the crowd may be thin as wary folks have started heading out of town.

What could be behind the mysterious booms?
