Victim of Violent Home Invasion in College Park Speaks
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - Police in College Park are investigating a violent early-moing home invasion that took place on Monday. They say masked three suspects forced their way into a home, and then tied and duct-taped a mother and two teenage girls.
It happened in the 200 block of Magnolia Walk Lane. According to investigators, the mother, Carla Scott, was pistol-whipped. They said she is being treated at a local hospital. Her 19-year-old daughter and her best friend, who is also 19, were not hurt.
FOX 5’s Denise Dillon spoke to Scott about the ordeal after she was released from the hospital on Monday. She said she honestly believed she was going to die as the suspects hit her in the head and pointed a gun to her temple, demanding cash.
Scott said the suspects kicked in her bedroom door. She said the whole time they were there, she was worried about her daughter and her best friend, who were tied up and duct taped in another room.
Police say the suspects took every TV in the house, money and jewelry, along with a white 2003 Monte Carlo belonging to Scott’s daughter. That car has Georgia license plate BMW 7953, and police were still searching for it on Monday night.
Scott told FOX 5 her son is in the recording business, and he often welcomes people into their home because of his career. She says she won’t have the same trust she once did for people coming in and out of her home after this incident.
Scott didn’t get a good look at the men because she says they all had white cloths around their heads. She says they were all young black men in their 20s.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call police.
