CARROLLTON, Ga. — A student at the University of West Georgia was killed Saturday, just outside the university’s football stadium.

Authorities said Matthews Dyas was tuing into the stadium on his motorcycle when another car crossed his path causing the wreck.

The driver of the car, Gloria Faith Dupree, has been charged with first degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and failing to yield while tuing left, police said.

Dupree is currently in the Carroll County Jail.

Dyas is from Ackworth and was a graduate of Harrison High School. He was majoring in finance and was a member of the university’s golf team, according to the UWG's website.
