Two Men Identified In Fatal Shooting Outside Bowling Alley

CHAMBLEE, Ga. -- Chamblee police are investigating a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a bowling alley just south of Interstate 285.

Police said John Elliott Williams, 31, was fatally shot at 7:45 p.m. on Monday outside 300 Atlanta on Savoy Drive.

Williams called 911 and said that he was in the bowling alley parking lot when a man tried to rob him.

Police said Williams was shot by Rodney M Powell.

Powell told investigators that he came to the location to meet Williams to buy some laptop computers, but Williams got into his car with a gun, and took the money for the computers. Powell fired a shot in self- defense, according to reports.

There was a gun found in the parking lot afterward, which police assume belonged to Williams.

Police don’t believe Williams and Powell knew each other before the incident.

Police are now searching for Antwon Milton who was with Williams, driving silver Mistubishi. Police believe he was the person who had the computers for sale.

Powell is not facing any charges.

Warrants have been issued for Milton charging him with felony murder and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.

Milton is currently out of jail on a $50,000 bond from DeKalb County for aggravated assault and armed robbery charges in November of 2010.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Antwan Milton or his silver Mitsubishi Eclipse is asked to contact the Chamblee PD at 770-986-5005 or call 911.
