Two Die In Plane Crash Near Monticello Airport

A small plane has crashed near Monticello Sky Ranch Airport in Jasper County claim two people.

According to FAA spokesperson Kathleen Bergen, an experimental RV6 crashed at the end of the runway. Two people were at the time of the crash. Both reportedly died at the scene. The plane was destroyed by fire.

The incident happened around 6:22 p.m. Saturday.

The accident is still under investigation.
