HENRY COUNTY, GA - Authorities say a Henry County teen has died after a multiple vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer that closed the northbound lanes of I-75.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the accident took place Saturday moing  just before 11 a.m. near SR 20 or Hampton Road and at least nine cars were involved in the wreck.

Family and friends have identified the victim as Summer Lee, 18. Family said Lee was on her way to babysit when the accident occurred. They say she was a senior at Locust Grove High School.

"We just celebrated her 18th birthday last Sunday. She was a princess," said Lee's grandfather, Edward Hasty. "She was special, very special.

Lee played softball and liked to take pictures, Hasty said.

"She had mentioned she probably wanted to be a sports announcer. With the sports background that she had, she would probably make a good one," he said.

Lee's friend Addie Hatcher said, "She would put everyone else's needs before hers, like she would make sure you were okay before she was okay. She had a big heart and she loved many people.

The tractor-trailer caught fire in the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Grief counselors will be on hand Monday at Locust Grove High School.

Lee's family asks people to donate to JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in her honor.
