Suspect Divonte Lester arrested in fatal shooting of legislator's nephew
Divonte Lester turned himself into police on Monday, September 24, 2012

Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of the nephew of a state representative.

Quinn Keevon Heckstall, 20, was shot Saturday night while visiting his girlfriend at an apartment complex in Jonesboro.  Heckstall, the nephew of East Point Democratic Rep. Joe Heckstall, was pronounced dead at Southe Regional Hospital in Riverdale.

Clayton County authorities issued arrest warrants for Divonte Lester on charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and tampering with evidence.



Lester tued himself into authorities on Monday night.

"I'm so sorry. That was like my brother," Lester said as he was being led to jail.

He was booked into Clayton County Jail. Police have not released a motive in the shooting.
