State Department of Human Resources Van Overturns, Five Injured

VILLA RICA, Ga. - Villa Rica Police say a Georgia Department of Human Resources van carrying senior citizens overtued Thursday.

The accident happened on Ledbetter Road around 9:30 a.m. 

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the van was traveling west on the road and as it was rounding a curve, it struck a patch of ice, lost control and overtued.

Six people were in the van and five of them were injured. They were transported to Tanner Medical in Villa Rica and Tanner Medical in Carrollton, says the GSP. Police say their injuries are non life-threatening but did not elaborate.

The accident is under investigation.
