A Mountain View Elementary School teacher is out on bond following accusations that she hurt a student in a classroom. Special education teacher Sara Johnson had tued herself in to the Cobb County jail following the accusations.

She received a battery charge for allegedly mishandling a male student.

A letter sent home from the school didn’t identify Johnson, or give many details about the case. But arrest records said she hurt the student ”by grabbing him out of the chair by the upper arms off the ground, and dropping him to the floor.  

Parents reportedly took the child back to a doctor Wednesday over conces about head injuries.

Cavitt said the teacher has since lost her job. Cobb County school district officials confirmed the incident, but declined to comment further, noting that it was a personnel matter.

Parents Cavitt spoke to said the district responded to the case in a fair and speedy manner.
