Russian FedEx Driver Fired Over Accent, Claims Lawsuit - Shocking!
A FedEx driver was fired over an accent, claims a new lawsuit. Ismail Aliyev claims that he was a proud driver for a FedEx contractor until he was allegedly fired because of his Russian accent. FedEx told news today that they could confirm his employment. But other than that, they have yet to see the lawsuit.
In a news statement, FedEx said "We are currently reviewing the details of the case but have no further information at this time." Erin Truxal, a FedEx Ground spokeswoman, also confirmed that Aliyev drove for GNB Trucking, in a news statement today. Aliyev didn't work directly for FedEx but for Salt Lake City-based GNB Trucking, a FedEx contractor. Robert Wilde represents Aliyev.
