BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Brookhaven police have arrested a man suspected of carrying out a string of armed robberies targeting taxi drivers in the city, authorities said.

Aaron Rodriguez-Viveros, 29, was taken into custody Wednesday without incident and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to police.

Police allege Rodriguez-Viveros robbed at least three taxi drivers in separate incidents between Jan. 29 and Feb. 4. Investigators believe he also may be connected to additional armed robberies in neighboring Gwinnett County and has outstanding warrants there for weapons and other offenses.

Authorities say the investigation remains active, and additional charges could follow as detectives continue to gather evidence.
