17-year-old killed at Gwinnett County extended-stay motel

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A 17-year-old boy was found shot to death Friday morning inside an extended-stay motel room in Gwinnett County, and a suspect is in custody, police said.

Officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department’s South Precinct responded to the Live-In Lodge on the Stone Mountain Freeway, where they found the teen dead in a bed in Room 216, according to police. Investigators also focused on Room 225, which shares a wall with the room where the body was found, authorities said.

Police have not released the names of the victim or the suspect, and no motive has been announced. Detectives, crime scene investigators and representatives from the district attorney’s office remained at the motel early Friday as the investigation continued.
