WASHINGTON  — The U.S. Department of Justice has released millions of pages of previously sealed documents from its investigation into deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein, and some materials include unverified allegations involving former President Donald Trump, according to the documents and federal officials.

The latest release, made under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, includes more than 3 million pages of records, videos and images from federal investigations into Epstein’s activities. The files contain references to a range of public figures, but the Justice Department said many of those references reflect unverified tips submitted to the FBI and do not constitute evidence of wrongdoing.

In a statement, the department said the documents include “untrue and sensationalist claims” about Trump that were submitted by members of the public, and caution that inclusion in the release does not indicate the allegations are factual. The department said it redacted sensitive information, including the identities of victims, and that the material was produced in compliance with federal law.

Trump has acknowledged that he and Epstein were acquaintances years ago but has denied any allegations of sexual misconduct.

The files were released on a rolling basis after Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act in late 2025, requiring the Justice Department to make the materials public. The law gave the department 30 days to release responsive records, though officials said the volume and need to redact sensitive information delayed the schedule.

Lawmakers and victims’ advocates have raised concerns about redactions and the withholding of some documents, saying more complete disclosure is necessary for transparency. The Justice Department said it withheld material to protect ongoing investigations and personal privacy.
