Prosecutors Want Death Penalty In Trooper Shooting
Gregory Favors

ATLANTA - Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against a man charged with killing a state trooper in December during a traffic stop.

A Fulton County prosecutor said Thursday at an arraignment hearing that the state plans to pursue capital punishment against Gregory Favors. He is charged in the killing of 38-year-old Chadwick LeCroy on Dec. 27.

LeCroy had been a trooper for less than two years at the time of his death. He quit a construction job to become an officer to ea more money to support his family.

Favors, who is being held without bond, has a criminal record that dates back 11 years. He was free on bond on several felony charges on the night of the shooting, and authorities say he skipped a court appearance earlier that day.
