Pregnant woman, unborn baby killed in serious crash

Police say a pregnant woman and her unbo child have died after a horrific 3-car accident in Duluth on Saturday night.

 

Gwinnett County Police say the accident happened around 9 p.m. Saturday near Pleasant Hill Road and Venture Drive.

 

Katerin Metina, 19, was transported to an area hospital where she and her unbo child later died.

 

Police say several other were injured in the accident, but their injuries were not released.

FOX 5 News crews arrived at the scene to find a car completely to apart. Police say that two cars and a 2001 Ford Econoline were involved in the accident.

 

Police say the driver of the car, 30-year-old Erasmo Santos-Ordonez, faces charges for Vehicular Homicide 2nd Degree, Feticide by Vehicle, and Failure to Yield while a Tuing Left. Jail officials say that he has an immigration hold status on him. He is expected to make his first appearance Monday. Santos-Ordonez is currently being held without bond.

 

The driver of van, 43-year-old Miguel Zarate, of Dallas, Texas, was charged with driving without a license

 

The circumstances behind the crash were not immediately released
