Police: Standoff suspect Clinton Bailey angry over alleged gov't spying
A man who spent Monday holed up in a Sandy Springs apartment with a baby believed the govement was spying on him, police said.
Sandy Springs police said the incident began around 9:45 a.m. when Clinton Bailey stormed into the One Sovereign Place apartment complex’s leasing office waving a gun. He was taken into custody more than 10 hours later.
Police said Bailey threatened people at the leasing office and then left, barricading himself in his apartment. He believed the govement was watching him through his water heater, police said.

Bailey, a former entertainer at the Coronet adult entertainment club, also had a 7-month-old infant inside, police said. The child is his girlfriend’s daughter, but it is unclear whether he’s the father.

The standoff shut down part of Roswell Road, slowing rush-hour traffic. Several law enforcement agencies were in the area, working to contact Bailey and the child’s mother.
The child’s mother, Lindsay Rogers, showed up at the apartment complex shortly after 7 p.m. Police said Rodgers, 27, did not cooperate or provide information about Bailey. She was arrested and charged with obstruction.
