Police Search for Kidnapping Suspect Jerrell Berger
Jerrell Berger

Atlanta police say they’re searching for a man who pistol whipped a woman after she refused to date him. Investigators say Jerrell Berger hit the woman repeatedly after forcing her to drive around the Atlanta area at gunpoint.

Police say Berger, 42, got angry that the woman didn’t want to date him, and he kidnapped, robbed and assaulted the woman. They say the victim suffered several injuries, but somehow managed to hold her ground. The attack happened on March 9 around 11 p.m.

According to police, the woman was beaten in the face with a hand gun. They say Berger tried to get her to drive down a dark road and she refused. That’s when they say Berer took her keys and cell phone, and fled on foot.

Police say Jerrell and the woman had some contact, but it’s clear there was no relationship between them.

Anyone with information on Berger’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS (8477).
