One of Atlanta’s most dangerous fugitives is off the street, authorities say. Earlier this month, Atlanta police issued a waing about Eric Strickland, saying he was wanted for murder, and had threatened to kill any officer who tried to take him into custody.

Strickland had been called the meanest man on Atlanta’s streets. Now, he’s in the Fulton County Jail charged with murder, and police are relieved.

Atlanta police were so conceed about Eric Strickland that the department's Office of Homeland Security put out a waing to all Atlanta police officers saying Strickland had a bulletproof vest, armor piercing bullets and a desire to kill a police officer.

Police say they got a tip that Strickland was hiding out in a house in Decatur, and the department sent the fugitive unit to confirm that. Then, they sent the SWAT unit to go in and get him. Authorities say he was given a command to come out of the house, and when he didn’t come out, the SWAT team went in to get him.

Back in May, police believe Strickland shot Untraves Weems as the two men crossed Ira Street. They say Strickland fired a .40 caliber hand gun without waing, striking Weems in the head.

Eric Strickland was on the top ten most wanted fugitive list because Atlanta police had considered him so dangerous.
