Cartersville police are searching for an escaped inmate in Bartow County.

Police told reporters that 42-year-old Sean Killion overpowered a private security guard while they stopped for food Wednesday night.

Police said Killion was supposedly shackled at the time of his escape. There were four guards at the scene.

Police records show Killion was previously arrested in Florida for violating probation and drug charges. He also has a probation violation charge in Indiana.

A private contracting company was transporting Killion from Florida to Indiana.

Officials said Killion has a history of escaping from custody.

U.S. Marshals will take over the investigation as soon as he is in federal custody.
