Police Identify Suspects in Murder Case
Demario Ware

Atlanta police hauled Demario Ware off to jail. The 20-year-old faces murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in connection with the death of boxing champ Veon Forrest.

It was the surveillance video that led detectives to Ware. Police said it shows the person who robbed Forrest right about the time an accomplice shot the champ in the back several times.

Investigators said, after the tape was released, tips came flooding in including one that fingered Ware as the man in the video.

Detectives said Ware ended up surrendering Monday.

On camera, investigators didn't have much to say about the arrest, but police said they do have the names of others suspected of taking part of the crime.

Among those they're searching for is the actual triggerman -- who hasn't been identified publicly – and the getaway driver.

Ware is described as the robber who held up Forrest -- taking a boxing championship ring and his Rolex watch.

Investigators said the champ grabbed a gun and chased after the thief, firing shots as he ran. They said the robber slipped into an apartment while another man opened fire on Forrest killing the 38-year-old boxer.
