Police hunt for Georgia woman who was caught punching her dog in the face while holding it by the neck in disturbing video

A Georgia woman was caught on camera punching a dog in the face and carrying it down the street by its neck.  

The video was shot by a witness and tued over to DeKalb County police, who are now searching for the woman, according to FOX 5 News. 

Witnesses told FOX 5 that the woman first hit the dog with a stick, then started punching it.

In the video, two men can be heard talking. One man said: 'Seriously, say something.'

And immediately the other man can be heard yelling at the woman. He said: 'Hey, stop hitting your dog!' 

The witnesses said they continued to yell for her to stop as she repeatedly punched the dog in the face.  

The dog appeared to be a Corgi mix.

DeKalb County police have gone door to door looking for the woman around the Willa Way area in Decatur.

Residents of the community said they were very disturbed by the video and that things of this nature are not normal for their neighborhood. 

One neighbor described the treatment of the dog as 'inhumane'.

'I hope they find her- and the dog,' another neighbor said.
