HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- A Hall County toddler was left strapped in a car seat while his mother shopped Thursday, police said.

The mother, 26-year-old Megan Elizabeth Dean, left the boy behind when she went inside a Ross store at the Stoneridge Shopping Center, police said. They said the 13-month-old was freed by police and firefighters. He was taken to his father, police said.

Dean was charged with reckless conduct and booked into the Hall County Jail.
