Police: Child seating in car shot in the head, airlifted to hospital

Clayton County police said a 4-year-old girl inside her mother's van was shot in the head. The girl's mother told poilice she heard a loud pop, before noticing her daughter slumped down in the seat.

Police said the girl was airlifted to Egleston Children's Hospital.

Investigator say the gun used in the shooting came from inside of the van, but they initially thought the shot came from somewhere else. Police said three other children were inside of the van when the shooting happened.
