Plea deal expected for homeowner Phillip Sailors, accused of deadly driveway shooting
The arrest warrant said Philips Sailors fired his .22-caliber pistol in the direction of the victim while the victim was driving away.

GWINNETT COUNTY authorities say a man accused of shooting a 23-year-old who pulled into his driveway will enter a guilty plea.

Phillip Sailors, 70, is expected to plead guilty to misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter next week.

Sailors will be ordered to serve 12 months on probation and pay a $500 fine.

Prosecutors say Sailors shot and killed 23-year-old Rodrigo Diaz when Diaz and three friends pulled in his driveway on Hillcrest Drive in Lilbu.

The teens told police their GPS steered them into the wrong driveway.

Sailors told investigators he thought he was about to be a victim of a home invasion. He fired two shots into the car. One hit Diaz in the head.
