Officials Want Parked Cars Off Streets To Remove Ice
ATLANTA -- Now that many of the main roads have received attention, local officials are asking residents to remove their vehicles from side streets so crews can begin removing ice from neighborhoods.
The cities of Atlanta and Sandy Springs and the Georgia Department of Transportation are putting out the call for residents to remove their vehicles from city streets – whether those vehicles are legally parked or abandoned.
”If you have a car that you had to abandon, please go and get it today. We are scraping neighborhood streets now and we need them out of there, Sandy Springs officials said.
In Atlanta, if owners of abandoned vehicles fail to retrieve them, it could result in those vehicles being towed from the roadway at the owner’s expense, Atlanta officials said.
