Obama staffer stands by vaguely racist tweet
Was the chimichanga tweet racist?

President Barack Obama's campaign manager Jim Messina is under attack from the GOP for a quote he tweeted, which mentioned delicious Hispanic fare. The full Tweet: \"Line of the day from WAPO's Dana Milbank: 'The chimichanga? It may be the only thing Republicans have left to offer Latinos.\" (That line comes from this Washington Post opinion piece).

Republicans, Latinos and Twitter users alike took offense and urged the Obama campaign to issue an apology, saying the tweet was insulting and culturally insensitive. And, thus, the #chimichangate war and hashtag were bo. Messina is standing by the remark, saying in a subsequent tweet, \"Tweeting someone else's words caused a stir, but the GOP is on the wrong side of every Hispanic vote priority.\"
