NWS rates Adairsville tornado EF 3

According to the National Weather Service, the toado that struck Adairsville on Wednesday was 900 yards wide.

Based on information from survey crews, the NWS said the toado’s track was 22 miles long, with winds up to 160 mph.

The NWS rated the toado as an EF 3 twister. It was 6 mph shy of an EF 4 rating.

More than 60 buildings in Bartow and Gordon counties were destroyed, but the heaviest damage was to the Daiki manufacturing facility

An Adairsville man was killed in the toado, and 9 people in Bartow County and eight in Gordon County were injured.
