Republican gubernatorial candidate Nathan Deal began his last campaign before Election Day with a fly-around the state Monday, November 1.

ATLANTA - Republican gubeatorial candidate Nathan Deal began his last campaign before Election Day with a fly-around the state Monday.

Deal left Peachtree DeKalb early Monday moing with Georgia Goveor Sonny Perdue with his first stop in Columbus, Georgia.

While Deal is ahead in the polls, he has not been above the 50 percent mark in order to avoid a runoff. Deal says he is "optimistic about what the polls seem to be showing."

Among those joining Deal for his fly-around are Senator Saxby Chambliss and Senator Johnny Isakson.

Deal is scheduled to stop in Macon, Tifton, Savannah, and Augusta.

Deal is expected to retu to Peachtree DeKalb Airport around 6 p.m.
