Multiple men arrested in Newton County for aggravated assault incident at gas station

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four men in connection with a New Year’s Day shooting at a gas station in Covington.

Investigators say two groups exchanged gunfire Jan. 1 at a Circle K on Salem Road before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported, but a nearby fuel truck was damaged.

Between Jan. 7 and Feb. 13, authorities arrested four suspects from Conyers and Covington:

  • Cameron Little, 21 — Possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes, unauthorized discharge of a firearm within 50 yards of a public highway, reckless conduct, first-degree criminal damage to property, and false statements.

  • Cameron Hill, 17 — First-degree criminal damage to property, possession of a pistol or revolver by a person under 18 (first offense), reckless conduct, giving a false name, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes, and unauthorized discharge of a firearm within 50 yards of a public highway.

  • Earon Little, 19 — False statements.

  • Corde Marks, 18 — Two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes, unauthorized discharge of a firearm within 50 yards of a public highway, and reckless conduct.

Sheriff Ezell Brown said the Newton County School System, including its police force and staff, assisted in the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
