Mayoral candidate emerges from lake drinking coffee in viral campaign video
Minneapolis mayoral candidate Jeffrey Wagner tells voters to 'wake the f*** up'

Americans love their unusual mayors – from Stubbs the cat (mayor of an Alaskan town) to border collie Lucy Lou, who is mayor of a small town in Kentucky.  So it might be not be very surprising that a man who emerges out of a lake with a cup of coffee in his election campaign video is running for office.

Jeffrey Wagner, who wants to be mayor of Minneapolis in Minnesota, sent a message to the people of the city in just his underwear.

His strange election campaign video shows him walking out of a lake drinking a cup of coffee, talking directly to the camera.

‘Over a million dollars is going to be spent to become the mayor of Minneapolis, a $100,000-a-year job,’ he said.

‘You’re not the one’s deciding who you vote for. The media and the money is. I’m cool with making $100,000 (£63,000) a year.’

He insists that he would use the money wisely and not take any ‘from the developers’ or what he refers to as ‘the political angle’.

Mr Wagner is even willing to forgo some of his hobbies to become mayor of Minneapolis.

‘I will not even go to the strip clubs — anymore!’ he added before telling voters in Minneapolis to  ‘wake the f*** up!’
